About Us
Over the last several
years as a music journalist, I've had the pleasure and
privilege of interviewing some of the iconic figures of New
Orleans music including Ellis Marsalis, Jr., Pete Fountain,
Dr. Michael White, Henry Butler, Phil Frazier (Rebirth Brass
Band), Hank Mackie, Tim Laughlin, Evan Christopher, and
Jimmy Robinson. Amazing musicians with compelling stories
and histories.
As I began researching my
book project that examines the correlation between the
lessons, attributes, and insights developed through music
and music education and success in the business world, I've
had the enlightening opportunity to discuss the power of
music with incredibly successful people. CEO's, executives,
and business leaders who speak enthusiastically of the role
that music has played in preparing them for success.
As we evolve as a
civilization, we are only beginning to understand the
potential that music can play in improving the quality of
our lives. Perhaps by bringing together stories of the many
champions of music in our world, we can all come to a
greater understanding of the Potential of Music.
I have developed this
podcast to have an outlet to share those stories with you.
